Great Vocal Jazz

I have always been a fan of vocal jazz, especially when it is mixed with fusion jazz.
Here are some greats of vocal jazz:

Manhattan Transfer

New York Voices

Real Group (A Capella only!) - They released a new album this year called "In the middle of life".

Rare Silk

Have you heard of Skype?

Skype is better that a phone! Yes, better quality and it's free (as long as you call from PC-to-PC). If you call a phone from your PC, it's only 2c per min all over USA, CAN and EU. I highly recommend it!

You can also play music through it, so if your band is in all kinds of necks of the wood, you can have an online rehearsal! Now isn't that revolutionary? All you have to do is hook up your instrument and mic to your computer.

Some cool music I listened to today:

  • Remix of "You're the only woman" by David Pack, who was the former lead singer of Ambrosia. He plays on a lot of CD's of jazz performers. Also sang with Alan Parsons. He has a very distinct voice. He's got 3 solo CDs, his 3rd one (The Secret of Movin' On) just came out. The legendary "Biggest Part Of Me", also a former Ambrosia song, is on it, too.

Welcome to my blog!

Hello all,

seems like everyone is blogging nowadays, so I'm giving it a try, too.

I won't tell you when I got up and went to the bathroom, but I'll tell you about my latest projects, music and band news, trips and other interesting stuff.

Last week, I went to San Francisco and attended a Special PBS taping of Dr. Wayne Dyer's speech on his new book "Inspiration - The Ultimate Calling". It was in the Masonic Auditorium. About 2500 attended the event. It was very moving and "inspiring", plus entertaining, too. As Dr. Dyer said, this was one of the 5 most memorable moments of my and probably other attendees' lives. For something like that, you can drive 6 hours (plus the drive to San Fran is always beautiful).

Check out Dr. Dyer's website for more info.

More to come soon.
Ciao
